New York law firm Chadbourne & Parke has doubled its Russian presence, securing a three-lawyer team and the St Petersburg offices of Coudert Brothers to complement its other Coudert hires in Moscow and Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Counsels Alexander Kalinov and Konstantin Osipov and associate Nonna Crane join Chadbourne in St Petersburg. Senior associate Ludmila Yegorova has also joined the US firm from Coudert’s Moscow office and will split her time between the two cities.
It is Chadbourne’s second Eastern European raid on the disintegrating Coudert – it also took on a team from the Kazakhstan office in July.
The dissolution of Coudert in Russia has gained momentum recently. The Lawyer reported on 27 October that DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary had taken two partners and two associates from Moscow, while Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe captured the bulk of Coudert’s Moscow office in June.
Chadbourne now has offices in Almaty, Moscow, Kiev in the Ukraine, St Petersburg and Tashkent in Uzbekistan; it also has affiliated firms in Baku in Azerbaijan, Minsk in Belarus and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.
