The Southampton office of Bristol-based Clarke Willmott has launched a private client practice following a three-partner raid on Southampton-based Moore & Blatch.
Partners Jessica Wiltshire, Adrian Butterworth and Lee Young all joined Clarke Willmott’s Southampton office today (14 May), along with tax consultant Adrian Shipwright.
Clarke Willmott managing partner David Sedgwick said: “Private client will always be part of Clarke Willmott and Southampton is in the middle of the richest part of the country in terms of private wealth, so this is a crucial move for us.”
Joining the Southampton team is partner Tom Hyde, who has relocated from Clarke Willmott’s Taunton office.
The firm has also hired Shoosmiths assistant Jonathan Grigg to head its commercial litigation practice in Southampton. Grigg, who joins as partner, specialises in pensions litigation and is an accredited mediator and a member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.
Sedgwick added that Clarke Willmott hopes to expand its Birmingham private client team as part of general office expansion over the next three years.
