Avon and Somerset Police are heading for a showdown at the High Court with a man who is accusing them of wrongfully taking away the tools of his trade. Leslie Aaronson, also known as Lester Aaronson, according to claim documents issued at the High Court in London, is seeking damages from the police, who he alleges have wrongfully converted the tools of his trade. Alternatively, he is seeking damages for alleged breaches by the police of their duty of care as bailees of his tools, or negligence. Aaronson, of Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, claims police wrongfully converted the (unspecified) tools of his trade between 31 March and 21 July 1993. The claim has been issued by London-based solicitors Pothecary & Barratt.
