We reported in The Lawyer, 1 July 1997, on a case pending in the High Court in which the Daily Mail and the Manchester Evening News were taken to court by the Attorney General accused of contempt for using photographs of a woman, prior to her trial, in the act of the theft she was accused of. Lord Justice Simon Brown and Mr Justice Owen cleared the papers of contempt.
