Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) real estate partner Vinay Veneik has resigned amid allegations he concealed mistakes he made on transactions.
BLP insiders claim Veneik buried the fact that at the end of some deals he omitted to pay stamp duty and register the transfer of property.
A source said Veneik has resigned of his own volition. “The firm accepted his resignation as it felt it needed to for the integrity of the firm,” he said.
Robert MacGregor, BLP’s head of real estate, confirmed Veneik’s resignation and added: “We are very sad Vinay is leaving the firm. He’s done some excellent work here and we shall miss him.”
Veneik was unavailable for comment. It is understood he left BLP today.
