Fountain Court QC defects to rival One Essex Court

Fountain Court silk Craig Orr QC has defected to rival magic circle set One Essex Court.

Orr, who took silk in 2006, has a particular focus on major banking and financial disputes and is widely considered to be one of the leading young silks at the commercial bar.

It is rare for silks to move between the top commercial sets – they generally prefer to remain loyal to the chambers where they undertook their training.

In a statement Fountain Court said Orr had left for “his own personal reasons”.

The Lawyer revealed (24 January) how loyalties are being tested to the full, with more barristers switching chambers to take advantage of the litigation boom.

Last month Blackstone Chambers added Scotland’s leading barrister Richard Keen QC to its roster.
