The chief legal officer of SunGard Data Systems, Larry Gross, has joined US firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius after the software house was bought by a private equity consortium for $11.4bn in April.
Gross was SunGard’s general counsel from shortly after its public offering in 1986 until the beginning of 2005, when he became chief legal officer and chief administrative officer.
He joins Morgan Lewis as a partner in the firm’s business & finance practice group.
During his 20 year tenure at SunGard, the company grew from $50m to $4bn in revenue. Gross created, developed and managed the legal, governance and compliance functions for the company’s worldwide operations, a team of 85 professionals.
