Garrigues & Andersen gains new joint managing partners

Garrigues & Andersen, the Spanish member firm of Andersen Legal and the largest law firm in Spain, has appointed new joint managing partners.

Jose Maria Alonso and Miguel Gordillo take up their posts from 1 April for a four-year term. They replace current managing partners Alberto Terol, who retains his position as worldwide managing partner of the Andersen Legal network, and Daniel Garcia-Pita.

Alonso is head of litigation and arbitration while Gordillo is managing partner of Garrigues & Andersen's Madrid office.

Terol says: “Jose Maria and Miguel are first rate lawyers with a huge commitment to building the Garrigues & Andersen practice.”

Garrigues & Andersen has implemented a strategy of international growth in the past three years.

Last year the firm appointed Patrick Bignon of Archibald Andersen as managing partner for Europe and in January hired former Clifford Chance managing partner Tony Williams with a brief to develop key international markets.
