US firm Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton has snapped up Walt Disney Co’s general counsel and executive vice president to help the firm launch an institutional entertainment and media practice.
Louis Meisinger joined Disney in 1998, where he headed up the company’s worldwide legal team. He was previously a partner at Hill Wynne Troop & Meisinger.
He will act as a senior adviser at the firm, as well as spending time working as a mediator for ADR Services.
Meisinger is expected to stay with the media giant for a month. A successor has not yet been appointed.
