French firm joins Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy, Herbert Smith in gaining second licence

French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel is the latest to announce that it has approval from the Chinese Ministry of Justice to open a second office in China.
The firm opened its first Chinese office in Beijing in 1987. Gide has 50
lawyers in China managed by four resident partners, Yan Lan, Stéphane
Vernay, Han Qimeng and Hubert Bazin.
Other firms to have bagged a second licence include Herbert Smith, Baker &
McKenzie, Jones Day, O¹Melveny & Myers, Vinson & Elkins, Masons, Clifford
Chance and Allen & Overy.
