Anne Marie Colton claims she suffered injury as a result of the implantation of a contraceptive device in February 1995. Her writ is against Roussel Laboratories of Uxbridge. Her case will form part of major litigation, supervised in the High Court by Mr Justice May.

The executors of the late Neville Cox have launched a claim against his former employer. They say he died after exposure to asbestos and asbestos dust when he worked for Marley of Sevenoaks. They claim the exposure was caused by negligence and breach of statutory duty.

Uzma Nizarali of Peterborough has launched a High Court action for damages of more than £50,000. He is suing East Anglian Ambulance NHS Trust, Dr Sagar Ghosh, Peterborough Hospitals NHS Trust, Papworth Hospital NHS Trust and Addenbrookes NHS Trust, alleging they have been negligent in their care of him as a patient since February 1995.

Raymond Smith of Wigan claims that he suffered personal injuries in an accident at the Bank of Nigeria in Pall Mall, London, on 9 March 1995. He is suing London Regional Transport and Balfour Beatty, claiming his injuries were the result of their negligence and breach of statutory duty.

Reisel Schechter, of London NW4, is suing Jason Ezekiel, of London NW11, and John Laing Construction, of London NW7, for damages of more than £100,000, after a road accident which he claims was caused by Ezekiel, an employee of John Laing Construction.

The Bradford and Bingley Building Society is suing Field Overell of Leamington Spa, for damages for alleged breach of contract and negligence when the firm acted for the society in March 1997 in litigation involving property in London N19 and in respect of the firm's failure to take proceedings against GH Gelberg & Co, solicitors, who acted in the transaction.
