The seven-year deal will broaden Sita’s existing partnership with Orange Business Services (OBS). Sita specialises in air transport communication and IT solutions.
Meredith said the complexity of the deal derived partly from the fact that it was “truly global”.
Until 2001, Sita owned OBS, then known as Equant. The familiarity of the parties involved added a layer of complexity to the negotiations, which featured 10 consecutive streams handling issues such as liability, termination and IP rights.
Meredith worked with a team featuring Sita general counsel David Greaves and legal director Stephen Baird.
OBS handled the deal primarily in-house, with support from Herbert Smith senior associate Mark Robinson.
