Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has taken on commercial litigator Robert Hickmott, who joins the firm’s London office as a partner.

Hickmott was previously a partner at CMS Cameron McKenna in its banking and insolvency litigation group.

Covington & Burling has hired Andrew Dalton, who joins the firm’s corporate practice as an associate from Travers Smith. His practice focuses on M&A, equity capital markets and private equity transactions, with a particular interest in deals in the life sciences industry.
Kingsley Napley has taken on Simon Halberstam as a partner to join its corporate and commercial team. He joins the firm from Sprecher Grier Halberstam, where he was a partner and head of the intellectual property and IT/e-commerce group. He specialises in all aspects of contractual and litigation matters relating to IP, IT and e-commerce.
Withers has announced the appointment of Alana Lowe-Petraske as an associate in its charity and philanthropy group. She joins from Bates Wells & Braithwaite, where she was a solicitor in the charity and social enterprise group. She specialises in providing commercial, regulatory and tax advice to not-for-profit organisations and their donors.
Sacker & Partners has appointed Emma Martin as a solicitor. She joins Sackers to specialise in pensions law after training and qualifying as a solicitor at Jones Day. Her experience to date includes acting for both employers and trustees, advising on defined benefit and defined contribution occupational pension schemes and employee share schemes.
Trowers & Hamlins has taken on Anna Clark, who joins the firm’s housing finance practice as a partner. She has been a partner at Winckworth Sherwood for nearly 10 years, where she has acted for numerous registered providers in negotiating loan agreements with lenders.
Kervin & Barnes Solicitors has taken on Hilary Norris as a partner. She is a part-time employment tribunal judge and previously worked at Sodexo as senior legal counsel.
Hogan Lovells’ finance group has recruited Stuart Brinkworth as a partner in its banking practice in London. He joins from SJ Berwin, where he was a partner specialising in acting for UK and international lenders and borrowers on a variety of leveraged finance transactions, including leveraged buyouts, public bids, trade purchases and recapitalisations.
Manches has appointed Anna Burnside as head of its private client practice in the Thames Valley region. She joins from Thomas Eggar, where she was head of its private client practice. She will be joined at Manches by her assistant solicitor Fiona Wheeler, who also joins from Thomas Eggar.
Withy King has welcomed Richard Baxter as a new partner in its corporate and commercial department. He joins from Rochman Landau, where he was a partner. He provides commercial and operational advice to clients at all stages of their commercial development and in all sectors.
Birketts has appointed solicitor Elizabeth Lee to its commercial property team. She joins from Steeles Law, where she was a solicitor. She has experience advising both private and public sector clients on landlord/tenant law.
Harrison Drury has expanded its commercial and property litigation department after appointing new specialist solicitor Colin Fenny. He has joined the firm as an associate and will act
for owner-managed businesses and larger commercial organisations. He joins from Brabners Chaffe Street.
Jacksons Law Firm has taken on Stephen Duffy as a solicitor in its family department. He joins from Samuel Phillips with his secretary Pauline O’Donnell, who has also joined the team. Meanwhile, Clare Fegan has joined the firm’s insolvency department after completing her training contract at Watson Burton.
Sarah Clubley of Williamsons Solicitors has become president of the Hull Incorporated Law Society (HILS), a position she will hold for the next two years. Clubley is head of Williamsons’ family and childcare department, and a company director. HILS helps solicitors by providing practice-area training, and running networking and social events for lawyers in the area.
Burness has appointed planning and environmental law consultant John Bowman to its energy and renewables team. He joins Burness from city firm Dewey & LeBeouf. He is a specialist in climate change-related matters, including carbon capture and storage.
HBJ Gateley Wareing has strengthened its real estate team with the appointment of Robert Forman as associate and promotion of Carrie Armstrong to senior associate. The solicitors, based at the firm’s Edinburgh office, are both dual-qualified in Scotland and England/Wales. Forman joins the firm from Dickson Minto.
Anderson Strathern has announced the appointment of new partner Rodger Murray. He was previously a partner at Brodies for 11 years in the firm’s corporate team. His prime role will be working with Anderson Strathern’s corporate finance, retail and development team.
Hugh James has promoted both Louise Price and David Pittick to partner. Price, who joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2001, has been made a partner in the employment and HR services department. Pittick has been made a partner in the firm’s commercial property department.
Beiten Burkhardt has reinforced its corporate team in Dusseldorf with the hire of trade and corporate law solicitor Dr Hans-Josef Vogel. He joins the firm as a salaried partner from the Cologne office of Avocado Rechtsanwälte.
Chadbourne & Parke has announced that Gary Feulner has rejoined the firm as senior counsel in its Dubai office. Feulner headed the firm’s former Abu Dhabi office from 1984 to 1990. He rejoins the firm after18 years as general counsel of SHUAA Capital psc, a Dubai-based investment bank.
Holland & Knight has announced that Eric Eikenberg, former chief of staff to Florida governor Charlie Crist, has joined the firm’s Tallahassee office as a senior policy adviser in its public policy and regulation practice group. Eikenberg will co-lead the firm’s Florida government advocacy team with senior policy adviser and ex-Florida governor Bob Martinez.
