The firm signed the deal with the suppliers on 16 December and began installation work last week with the aim of having the system up and running on all 140 fee earners' desks by the end of the summer.
IT director John Rowland described the installation of CMS Open as a 'very large project' but would not reveal how much it cost. The move sees the firm, which previously used an Ushers system, following in the footsteps of London practice Jeffrey Green Russell.
Senior partner Clive Whitfield-Jones told The Lawyer in September that the firm had chosen a US product costing £300,000 as it believed US technology was the way of the future.
Rowland, who joined Titmuss Sainer on 1 December from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert to oversee the installation of the new system, said the firm had set up a 'project management board' consisting of himself, chief executive Peter Duffell, marketing director Mike Clark, finance director Charles Whittam and a partner who is yet to be appointed, to look at technology in the firm.
Titmuss Sainer has also created an 'implementation team' consisting of representatives from all of the firm's legal and administrative departments which will work with CMS over the next few months while training takes place.
