This may not quite be an example of ‘from the sublime to the ridiculous’, but it’s at least from one extreme to the other. Regular readers of Tulkinghorn may recall that last month (15 January) we told a tale of lights so bright at Allen & Overy‘s (A&O) purpose-built Bishops Square headquarters that they were causing dozens of the firm’s staff to complain of migraines.
It would appear the firm has been on to the problem, but perhaps a little too enthusiastically. Last week one of Tulkinghorn’s scribes had a meeting at the office, and halfway through said meeting the movement-sensitive lights dimmed and then went out, simply because neither scribe nor partner were leaping around the room.
There’s a moral in there somewhere.
