On-Site Cleaning Services, of Wandsworth, London SW18, has issued a writ against Sutton man David Brown seeking damages for libel, slander and injurious falsehood. The writ comes after telephone conversations Brown is said to have made to the company's customers and in letters the company says he threatened to send to customers. The company seeks an injunction restraining further publication of the alleged libel, slander and injurious falsehood and is seeking damages for alleged conspiracy to publish defamatory statements. It also seeks an injunction restraining Brown from publishing defamatory statements and from unlawful interference with its business.

The owners of a clinical waste incinerator are suing their plant manager for damages over an allegedly fraudulent scheme they claim led to clinical waste being dumped at a factory in Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire. Cannon Hygiene, of Sanderstead, Surrey, has issued a writ against David Chapman, of Enfield; John Moynihan, of Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire; and Moynihan's company Green Environmental Industries, of Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The writ says Chapman was plant manager of Cannon's clinical waste incinerator at Enfield until he was sacked for misconduct in February this year. The writ claims some of the waste from the plant was incinerated at Enfield without Cannon's knowledge and says other waste was illegally dumped in a factory at Hoddesdon.

Breakfast cereal makers Kelloggs Co is seeking damages of over £232,000. Its writ claims 134,400kg of fruit mix for its 'Sustain' cereal was stored in a warehouse at Wrexham but became tainted after being stored near anti-freeze, washing powder, detergent and reject non-food material. The writ is against TDG, trading as Williams Distribution, of London SW1.
