Shadbolt & Co has doubled the number of partners in its small Paris office by absorbing an arbitration boutique.

Jean-Louis Delvolvé and Jean Rouche of niche firm Delvolvé & Rouche are joining Shadbolt as partners, bringing with them an associate.

The duo practice domestic and international arbitration, specialising in finance, investment, joint venture and construction disputes.

Delvolvé and Rouche join Paris managing partner David Brown and fellow litigator Patrick Mares in Shadbolt’s small French office, which was founded in 1999.

Brown said: “This is a big move because these are big names, extremely well-known in the French arbitration market. It’s the first stage of building up a strong civil and common law arbitration service.”

Brown added that it was likely that the team would expand further in the future, although the office would remain small.
