Clifford Chance senior partner Stuart Popham is set for another four-year term of office after the nomination process yielded no other candidates for the post.
The deadline for nominations expired earlier this week. Popham was the only partner to have his name put forward, making his election a certainty. The formal vote will be taken in two weeks.
Popham, a former head of banking, became senior partner in 2002 after a bruising election between six contestants.
As revealed by The Lawyer in July, the senior partner vote is the first of a series of management elections including regional and department heads as well as elections to the partnership council. Clifford Chance declined to comment.
