Real estate deals round-up

Linklaters (Martin Elliott) is advising retail developer John Milligan on a joint venture with the Walton Group to develop the Met Quarter, a 150,000sq ft site in Liverpool. SJ Berwin advised the Walton Group.

Allen & Overy (Simon Reid-Kay) advised the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund (MSRF) on its first major office property investment in Hong Kong. The HK$843m (£67.2m) joint venture purchase of Vicwood Plaza, with Pamfleet (HK), saw Johnson Stokes & Master acting for the vendor.

Nabarro Nathanson (Deborah Parry) advised DB Real Estate Investment GMbH on its acquistion of 100 Barbirolli Square in Manchester from Hermes. The deal is valued in excess of £52m, with Maxwell Batley (Orla O’Sullivan) acting on behalf of Hermes.

Bexley Council’s legal services team advised the council on the first multi-site public-private partnership leisure transaction in the UK, worth £30m. Barclays Bank’s PFI unit, advised by DLA, provided project finance to Boxwood Leisure, advised by Bevan Ashford (David Hutton). Gleeson Construction, the builder, was advised by Wragge & Co. Grant funding was provided by Sport England, advised by Collyer-Bristow (Alan Burdon Cooper).

Olswang (Liz Goss) advised London & Associated Properties on its £50m joint venture purchase, with Bank of Scotland and Analytical Properties Holdings, of the Church Square Shopping Centre in St Helens from the Oldham Estate Company. Vendor advised by DLA’s Manchester office (Patrick Duffy).

Lovells (Dion Panambalana) advised the City & County of Swansea on the £80m development of Morfa Stadium by Capital & Regional. Fladgate Fielder (Eamonn Cannon) advised Capital & Regional.

Jones Day Gouldens (Suzanne Davis) advised Delancey Estates on the sale of commercial property in Croydon worth £11.14m to Clerical Medical Managed Funds. Forsters (Sophie Hamilton) acted for the purchaser.
