A massive rearrangement of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer‘s London seating plans will see the firm’s management team move en masse to the first floor of the firm’s Fleet Street headquarters.
One management source admitted that management is obeying orders by agreeing to the move – but added that it is a positive move.
“I generally think moving is good because it lets you clean the office and get rid of some papers,” he said.
The reshuffle – the first major project undertaken by corporate head Tim Jones in his role at the helm of the London management committee – has been designed so that related teams are located near each other.
Jones said: “It’s about getting people who work together across departments sitting closer together. The area the management team sits in is being moved a couple of floors.”
Freshfields is currently housed between two buildings, with teams having spilled out of the main building on a random basis as and when new additions arrived.
