Shearman loses M&A star to Hogan

Shearman & Sterling‘s London office has been hit by the departure of highly rated M&A partner Jonathan Coppin to join the UK arm of Hogan & Hartson. Coppin, who joined Shearman four years ago from Norton Rose following a protracted search for a senior M&A partner, will head Hogan’s developing London M&A and corporate practice. Coppin, who has most recently been leading Shearman’s advice to Nokia on the merger of its network business with Siemens, said he was looking forward to creating his own M&A practice.
