Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker has expanded its tax law practice in France with the hire of Willkie Farr & Gallagher partner Allard de Waal.
The appointment comes as the firm celebrates its second anniversary in Paris, having opened the office in February 2004 with a merger with French independent Moquet Borde & Associés.
De Waal will be Paul Hastings’ 15th French partner, and its second to specialise in tax law, along with Henri de Feydeau. De Waal joins a team that has swiftly built up a strong reputation in corporate and private equity transactions.
Paris office chair Dominique Borde said that the focus in France was on recruitment that would bring additional depth to the firm’s core competencies.
De Waal focuses on tax issues relating to M&A and private equity.
