Halliwells trio jump ship to PwC

Halliwells trio jump ship to PwCA team of three real estate partners has left Halliwells’ London office for the legal arm of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

London real estate head Simon Hardwick (pictured) has moved on, together with Adam Perry and Tim Hart.

A spokesperson for Halliwells said: “Simon, Adam and Tim have decided to take on a new challenge and we wish them well,” adding that London-based partner Paul Marco would now be running the capital’s real estate capacity.

The firm’s London office has been hit by a number of departures this year. Head of corporate Julian Lewis resigned amid news that the group was lagging behind budget, moving to Fladgate Fielder (as reported in The Lawyer, 3 March).

A further eight people were made redundant across both support and fee-earning roles in the City (see story, 30 June).

There are now four partners left in the London real estate team.

The firm experienced an average drop in profitability of some 7.5 per cent this year, while turnover crept forward by just 0.9 per cent. As a result it dropped three places to number 33 in The Lawyer’s UK 200 Annual Report 2008 (The Lawyer, 1 September).

Hardwick was unavailable for comment.
