Munich-based Haarmann Hemmelrath & Partner has recruited a tax and a corporate specialist from Clifford Chance‘s Frankfurt office.
Tax associate Götz Tobias Wiese and corporate associate Thilo Rohde joined the Hamburg office of Haarmann Hemmelrath as partners.
Rohde claims they decided to move despite being put forward for this year’s partnership list at Clifford Chance in Frankfurt.
Clifford Chance was unavailable to comment on this.
But Rohde claims: “Götz Wiese and I have been through the partnership election at Clifford Chance. Our names were put forward to become partners.”
Rohde says they are moving because they are not content with Clifford Chance’s decision to merge with German firm Punder Volhard Weber & Axster.
Both Rohde and Wiese are from Hamburg and wished to return to their native city. Punders does not have an office there.
