Lawn Tennis Association nets legal head from Rugby Football

Neale, who joined the RFU in November 2005 from Denton Wilde Sapte, where she was an associate, takes up her new role on 22 March. She replaces Jo Farquharson, who left the LTA last October for a career break, but who continues as a consultant.

Neale said she had already recruited a second lawyer for the LTA, with Norton Rose associate Stephen Farrow set to come on board later this year.

“The legal work in both governing bodies will be broadly similar, although there will be some differences,” said Neale. “In terms of external work, the LTA uses a range of firms and there’s currently no formal panel, but we’ll see what happens.”

The RFU is currently recruiting for a replacement for Neale as well as a junior commercial lawyer. Head of legal Karena Vleck continues in her role.
