Since its inception in 1981 Olswang has taken a number of partners from SJ Berwin, including media partner Jacqueline Hurt, commercial litigator David Stewart and corporate partner Graeme Levy. Current Olswang chief executive Jonathan Goldstein also spent two years at the firm.
The news comes after SJ Berwin lost three partners in January with Sally Pinkerton joining Wragge & Co’s London real estate team, funds partner John Daghlian leaving to O’Melveny & Myers and competition partner Tom Usher heading to the Edinburgh office of Dundas & Wilson. It is not thought that the departures are related.
Olswang and SJ Berwin declined to comment.
