Bird & Bird raid boosts Dutch IP team

Bird & Bird has boosted its IP team in the Netherlands, hiring litigation partner Marc van Wijngaarden from Dutch patent specialists Arnold + Siedsma.

Two litigation associates, Lars Huisman and Annemieke Kooy are joining van Wijngaarden in the move.

Van Wijngaarden’s practice focuses on patent litigation for pharmaceutical, electronic and mechanical engineering clients.

Van Wijngaarden said he was attracted by Bird & Bird’s cross-border IP litigation practice: “One of the main reasons for joining is the international context in which the firm operates.”

“I’d like to expand my patent work internationally,” he added.

His hire brings Bird & Bird’s office in The Hague to 12 partners.
