    Why not go the whole hog and divide the profession into the fat cat aiders and abetters from Oxbridge, with specialised expertise in unusual financial,banking and corporate transactions and those in the real world who have to act for people with every day interests who know nothing about tax havens and the like?

    Come on guys, you are a specialist publication for lawyers and you should know that barristers' chambers do not 'hire' members. All members of the independent bar are self employed, and through Chambers they share administration and overheads. Chambers may hire administrative and clerking staff, but they do not 'hire' barristers.
