Irwins keeps focus on PI with three promotions

Irwin Mitchell is continuing to build its personal injury (PI) practice, with three of its four partnership promotions coming in the key practice area.

The firm, which is gearing up for the implementation of the Legal Services Act, has also promoted four non-lawyers to the level of associate director.

The four new partners comprise Philip Banks, who joins the Birmingham PI practice with a focus on travel litigation; Caroline Pinfold joins the London PI practice to specialise in asbestos claims; Neil Whiteley joins the Sheffield partnership to specialise in neurotrauma; and Sarah Wallace, the second partner to be made up in London, joins the regulatory investigations group.

Of the four associate directors, Karen Codling joins the Sheffield PI practice, Michael Bond is promoted in the insurance lending recovery practice and Hugh Darby and Maria Kesterton join the operations teams.
