This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Personal injury (PI) powerhouse Irwin Mitchell has matched last year's partner promotions, with seven made up in this round.
The firm's rapid expansion in the past 12 months, with mergers with clinical negligence firm Alexander Harris and Scottish firm Golds, means the partnership will increase to 105 partners from 1 May.
The new partners span most of Irwin Mitchell's practice areas, with two in PI and one each in public law, insurance, commercial, tax and property.
The firm is also moving its business model to align itself with the changing legal marketplace brought about by the Clementi and Carter reforms. With this in mind the firm has promoted non-lawyers to the equivalent of partner level positions for its director and associate director roles.
The firm promoted four non-lawyers to the partner-equivalent level of associate director, matching last year's figure and increasing the total number of directors and associate directors to 35.
