Irwin Mitchell has expanded its Bristol office with the launch of a family practice headed by Alison Hawes, who joins the firm from TLT Solicitors.
The firm launched its Bristol base in February in an effort to break into the South West market (16 February 2010).
Head of family Martin Loxley said Hawes would be responsible for building a family team in the city.
He said: “Part of our strategic plan is to have leaders in their local markets and fields in place in each of our regional offices.”
TLT’s head of private business David Woodward said: “We wish Alison every success. Since joining TLT as a trainee 18 years ago, Alison’s made a significant contribution to the firm, helping to build TLT’s family law team into the practice that it is today.”
Irwin Mitchell has embarked on an expansion drive in recent months, first expanding its presence in Spain through a merger with Madrid firm L&E Solución Legal and Empresarial (24 September 2010).
This was followed by the hire of a four partner real estate team from SJ Berwin for the firm’s London office as part of plan to grow its real estate practice (27 September 2010).
