Irwin Mitchell continues to build property team with LG hire

Irwin Mitchell has hired former LG partner Sue Wilson as a property litigation consultant, as the firm continues to expand its property practice in London.

Wilson was a partner in the property litigation team at LG until November 2009, when she left to pursue a business venture while also working part-time at Fox Williams.

“I’d heard that Jon [Vivian] had left SJ Berwin,” said Wilson, “and he got in touch and persuaded me to join Irwin Mitchell. The exciting thing about it for me, is that I’m coming into the team at the beginning of it all.”

Last year Irwin Mitchell made waves building its London property team, which now has 23 members. In September the firm hired Geoffrey Lander, the former head of real estate at Nabarro legacy firm Nabarro Nathenson (3 February 2010). In November, the firm poached SJ Berwin real estate head Vivian, who joined with six partners (27 September 2010).

In February 2011 former DLA Piper Sheffield managing partner and commercial property specialist Paul Firth also joined Irwin Mitchell, as a partner based in Sheffield.

“Irwin Mitchell already has a strong property litigation practice nationally, but Sue’s appointment fills the gap in London and we believe she’ll be a great asset in our establishment of a first-class property team here,” said Vivian. “She has strong experience, not only in property litigation matters, but also in business development and client care.”
