Monckton Chambers has brought in Irish silk Michael Collins SC as a door tenant in a further boost to the set’s competition expertise.
Collins is called to the Bar in England and Wales as well as Ireland. He worked with Shearman & Sterling in the 1980s as a member of the New York Bar, and was recently called to the Bar of the US Supreme Court.
He practises from Dublin, specialising in commercial, competition and EU law. In 1996 he was appointed as chair of the Irish Competition and Mergers Review Group, to make recommendations on new competition legislation which have since been implemented into Irish law.
Collins’s arrival follows the recent hire of Scottish advocate Heriot Currie QC from Flynn Stable.
