Introduction

I am delighted to welcome you as a visitor to the first Northern Legal Office Exhibition. Many would say that such an event is overdue, and certainly from the indications we have received from both exhibitors and visitors there is a great deal of excitement about the exhibition, which has been born out of the London-based Solicitors & Legal Office Exhibition. G-Mex is an ideal location for such an event. Situated in the heart of Manchester with easy access to the North, it offers facilities of a very high standard. The whole spectrum of products and services to the legal profession are on show at the exhibition and I am certain that you will find something of interest which will assist your profitability and efficiency.

I am delighted that our sponsor, The Lawyer, is working closely with us to develop the event, and I can assure you that this will be a major exhibition for the profession in the years to come. I hope you find your visit an enjoyable one and any feedback you may have on the event will be welcomed.

Keith Searby, managing director, Truemist Professional Exhibitions Ltd

Welcome to the Northern Legal Office Exhibition, the first major technology event for the legal profession in the North.

The Lawyer is proud to be associated with this event. As the most widely-read publication for the profession, we have provided extensive coverage of innovation in technology over the past decade. Every week we have written about the latest systems and developments, as well as reporting on which firms were introducing which systems.

Those at the cutting edge of legal practice have needed to build on their success by choosing the right technology, and for some it was a difficult learning process. We feel that by objectively reporting on the various options, we have provided a useful service to our readers.

To extend that service, we decided to get involved in the Solex northern exhibition. All too often exhibitions are held in London, making it difficult for those in the North to take advantage of seeing what is on offer. In bringing the technology to you, we hope that you can take the time out to see what is on offer.

We hope you enjoy meeting the exhibitors and discussing your needs with them, as well as with other lawyers at the show.
