This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
"The role of regional genral counsel is going to be more meaty, more substantial now," said Methold. "We've been winning and closing deals since early 2001, which have been mainly greenfield sites, so there was a lag while construction took place. It's now at that stage where they're coming online and we're entering the region of £60m profit and beyond for the Middle East."
Where Wadham and Methold had previously both reported to International Power's group general counsel Stephen Ramsay, Methold will now report to Middle East manager Ranald Spiers.
"It's about giving more power to the Middle East region and giving the legal function more authority to make decisions within the region," said Methold.
Clifford Chance is the company's main corporate firm, but it has used Allen & Overy, Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, Linklaters and Shearman & Sterling in the region.
