Insurer QBE names new legal chief as incumbent joins MOP
Commercial insurer QBE has promoted Esther Felton to head of legal replacing Adrian Williams, who is set to join Irish firm Matheson Ormsby Prentice.
Felton joined the in-house legal department in 2006 from Norton Rose, where she was a lawyer in the non-contentious insurance practice. She will head the insurer’s European legal operations.
QBE said her appointment was part of an ongoing drive to develop its own in-house legal practice.
“At a time when we’re looking to invest and develop our legal capability, Esther’s experience and knowledge of our business will be invaluable,” said chief executive Steven Burns.
