Insurer hires ex-Eversheds veteran as chief counsel

Insurance company Liberty International Underwriters Europe (LIU Europe) has appointed Nigel Davenport to the newly created position of chief counsel.
Insurance company Liberty International Underwriters Europe (LIU Europe) has appointed Nigel Davenport to the newly created position of chief counsel.
Davenport has joined LIU Europe from his previous position as deputy general counsel at First Title Insurance. He will provide advice to management in the UK and Europe from the company’s London base.
Davenport previously worked for ten years as a senior lawyer at Eversheds, where he had a focus on insurance.
LIU Europe chief executive Sean Rocks said: “This is a new role for us and reflects the development of our business and the need to have our own legal resource.”
