Insurance specialist to head LSLA

INSURANCE law specialist Richard Evans has been elected to head the London Solicitors Litigation Association.

Evans, senior litigation partner at the City firm Beachcroft Stanleys, replaces Michael Seymour at the head of the group, which aims to promote "the efficient conduct of civil litigation in London".

He will be at the helm for a two-year stint, at a time when Lord Woolf's plans to improve the delivery of civil justice are bound to feature heavily.

The LSLA was formed in 1951 and membership is open to any solicitor who is practising or employed in the Greater London area.

Evans, who specialises in acting for insurers, has been at the same firm for all his working life. He joined in 1974.
