Ince insurance head returns to Clydes

Ince & Co has lost head of corporate insurance David Coupe to its rival Clyde & Co. Coupe leaves Ince after 18 years to join Clydes, where he previously worked as a solicitor in the 1980s. Coupe, who specialises in regulatory insurance and competition work, will join Clydes’ four-partner corporate insurance team. He will report to partner Andrew Holderness, who planned to continue expanding the practice in a bid to combat a downturn in its core insurance and dispute resolution markets. His appointment follows a string of recent hires by the firm, including those of McDermott Will & Emery corporate partner Richard Britain and Lovells tax partner Trefor John.
