Ince & Co has appointed former Clyde & Co partner Richard Britain as head of its newly formed corporate insurance practice.
The group will sit in the firm’s insurance group, which is headed by partner Chris Jefferis. The three-lawyer team will work alongside the firm’s employment practice, which is led by partner Charlotte Davies.
It is the fifth partner hire for Ince & Co in the last 18 months, coming just weeks after the firm officially opened in Beijing after Shanghai contentious shipping partner Wai Yue Loh relocated to the office (25 July 2012).
Last year Ince expanded its London base by opening a desk in the Lloyd’s of London building. This came after the firm appointed legacy Barlow Lyde & Gilbert commercial risk and reinsurance partners Kiran Soar and Simon Cooper (13 October 2011).
Britain advises clients on public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and joint ventures.
A statement released by Jefferis said: “His arrival strengthens our corporate and regulatory team. With increasing consolidation in the market, our clients will welcome Richard’s transactional experience and market knowledge.”
