The judging panel for the inaugural The Lawyer European Awards.

A panel of well-travelled lawyers from private practice and multinational corporations, along with The Lawyer’s editorial team, will assess submissions from Continental European and UK firms to identify the outstanding law firms on the Continent.
From the private practice arena judges include Travers Smith outgoing managing partner Chris Carroll, Stephenson Harwood chief executive Sunil Gadhia and Macfarlanes senior partner Charles Martin.
In-house lawyers on the panel include Shell UK managing counsel, exploration and production, David Isenegger; The Wellcome Trust legal head and company secretary John Stewart; Unisys general counsel Pavel Klimov; Northrup Grumman European legal director Wolf von Kumberg; and InBev UK and Ireland legal director Claude Bahoshy.
The categories are divided regionally, with extra awards for Managing Partner of the Year, Niche Firm of the Year, Best Overseas Office (open to UK firms) and European Law Firm of the Year.
