Maurice Allen: an apology. In last week's issue, The Lawyer reported that White & Case's London head of banking Maurice Allen was a Brighton & Hove Albion FC supporter. Tulkinghorn would like to offer his heartfelt apologies to Mr Allen for committing such a dreadful error. Mr Allen is, of course, a devout Manchester United fan. Tulkinghorn can only assume that information regarding his allegiances, received in good faith by The Lawyer, was sent in anticipation of said club's comprehensive mauling at the hands of rivals Arsenal on the weekend of the 24 November. Clearly, the source believed that Allen was a winner and would only support a team at the top of its league, such as Brighton. Mrs Tulkinghorn, however, offered an alternative reasoning, commenting that Allen looks better in blue than red. Tulkinghorn always agrees with his wife, so thought it right that the readers should be able to judge for themselves.
