The Law Society could have an in-house lawyer as president for the first time
In-house lawyer Paul Gilbert (left), who works at Law Book Consulting has been nominated for the post of deputy vice president. If he gets the job, he will ultimately become deputy vice president and then president of the society under its current appointments system. Other members who have been nominated for the post are: Ed Nally, chairman of the society's standards committee and partner at Fieldings in Bolton; Angus Andrew, a consultant at Osbornes; Paul Pharoah, a partner at Martineau Johnson; and Alderson Dodds senior partner Nigel Dodds. Results will be announced on 21 March.
