Swedish music rights organisation Svenska Tonsättares Internationella Musikbyrå (STIM) has promoted its general counsel to acting CEO following the resignation of Kenth Muldin.
General counsel Helena Woodcock has taken up the role after the current CEO’s departure and her co-worker Emil Discksved has been appointed as acting general counsel.
Woodcock joined STIM in 2008 from Swedish multinational household appliance company AB Electrolux.
As acting CEO Woodcock will have seven reportees including Discksved, finance director Kristina Paulsson and chief operations officer Sara Kilander.
Woodcock said: “I very much look forward to my assignment as STIM acting CEO. STIM former CEO Kenth Muldin was the mastermind behind the strategic development that helped positioning STIM as one of the world’s leading CMOs.
“Now the STIM board and management will continue to follow the international business strategy that has been mapped out during the past years, says Helena Woodcock.”
STIM is non-profit performing rights society owned by songwriters, composers and music publishers. It issues licences for the use and distribution of music and collects and distributes royalties to creators and music publishers.
Muldin stood down as STIM CEO on Wednesday (19 February 2014). The decision was made together with the STIM Board of Directors on Wednesday and was effective immediately.
