  • Yet another high profile public sector legal panel drops Bond Dickinson.

    Ouch.

  • I have worked with almost all the firms mentioned in this article on public sector funded regeneration projects.

Personally I think HCA have made an excellent choice. Based on experience I would have dropped all the firms they dropped and chosen all the firms they chose.

  • Crushing for Bond Dickinson to be jettisoned from yet another public sector panel after being dropped by the 10 London Boroughs in November 2013.

Knowing how Bond Dickinson operates, the knives will be out for whichever partner screwed up. Something is clearly wrong with their offering in this area so perhaps tough decisions are needed.

  • Given the need to save money, why use city firms when you can pay lower fees for the same work undertaken in the regions.

Expect a vicious inquest at Bond Dicks, maybe even partners being moved on.

  • This is overdue. Hopefully HCA will learn to give all the firms on their panel a chance and also that just saying your firm is good in the bidding process is not enough.

  • The bigger picture is that the public sector is picking its law firms on the basis of their specialists, not the size of the firm. Note that many of the winners have former public sector in-house lawyers in their teams.
