TSB Bank has named Susan Crichton, previously the Post Office general counsel, as its first general counsel.
Crichton joins the bank on 6 January 2014 and will head up the bank’s preparations for an IPO.
The appointment follows the recent split of Lloyds TSB Bank. In September Lloyds Banking Group named corporate and M&A head Hugh Pugsley as its general counsel for group legal (16 September 2013).
Crichton has spent the majority of her career in-house, working for companies including Skandia/Old Mutual and GE Money (10 June 2002).She joined the Post Office in 2010, and played a key role in the company’s split from Royal Mail in 2012.
TSB chief executive Paul Pester said Crichton’s experience in financial services would be invaluable for the bank.
