The round-up of leading GC opinion kicks off a forthcoming series from The Lawyer, analysing the nuts and bolts mechanics of panel review processes. Some of the biggest bug-bears from leading GCs include complacency, laziness and marketing waffle, while long responses and “not working out when you are boring the client” also come in for criticism.
Particularly caustic was one GC who slammed law firms for not being open and honest about their weak spots, commenting: “It is very disappointing when the chat is better than the legal work. Law firms shouldn’t simply rely on their supposed reputations and their positions in the directories.”
