It’s been a week of panel reviews as Addleshaw Goddard, Dundas & Wilson and Herbert Smith Freehills all got reappointed to Standard Life Investment’s real estate panel, which was reviewed towards the end of 2012. All three firms are stalwarts of the panel, making the rigmarole of a panel review something of a formality.
Meanwhile, Amazon is looking to cut its legal spend after appointing a new general counsel last year and its roster of external legal advisers is one of the first places it’s looking. Amazon currently has a long and informal list of advisers, but is looking to launch a formal panel review to knock this mess into shape.
Finally, Lloyds Banking Group has put a group of firms on tenterhooks by delaying the review of its customer-pay panel. Firms were told the review would kick off in January, but have now been told to expect submission bundles from the bank’s in-house team by March - at the earliest.
