John Malpas reports
IN-HOUSE computer law specialist Ian Dickson has been recruited to join the Basingstoke office of West End firm Fladgate Fielder.
The move gives the firm the benefits of a qualified barrister, Dickson's expertise in computer and technology transactions, and his former employer Cimage International as a client.
Cimage, a US computer company specialising in document management, is following Dickson to the firm to take advantage of the expanded expertise of Flad- gates' corporate department.
Before heading the legal team at Cimage, Dickson worked as an in-house lawyer with Digital and NCR.
He intends to re-qualify shortly and says one of the reasons for his switch from in-house to private practice was the firm's response to the growing importance of the hi-tech market.
He says: "The potential of working with such a practice is enormous."
Chair of the firm's partnership board Paul Leese says: "We are very pleased to welcome Ian Dickson to our practice.
"He will bring a valuable resource of knowledge and experience as a former in-house lawyer and will strengthen our position in the developing world of information technology."
