Addleshaws joins Links and Slaughters on BA's first post-Iberia panel
British Airways’ (BA) first panel review since its merger with Spanish counterpart Iberia has been finalised, with Linklaters and Slaughter and May among the seven firms to land roles.
Baker & McKenzie, which previously handled BA’s employment work, is understood to have secured a beefed-up role on the panel and is expected to pick up more commercial mandates following the review.
Other firms on the panel are Addleshaw Goddard, Clifford Chance’s Madrid office, DLA Piper and Holman Fenwick Willan.
Earlier this year The Lawyer reported that BA was expected to unveil a slimmer panel following its review, which was launched late last year and carried out by the airline’s legal head Andrew Fleming (6 February 2012).
Bristows, Taylor Wessing and Wragge & Co were all on BA’s previous roster of external law firms but did not make the latest panel, though it is understood that BA has not severed ties with those firms completely.
BA merged with Iberia in 2010, with Norton Rose and Slaughters landing UK roles on the deal (8 April 2010).
